Touch Down!

So… I don’t have an exact direction yet, but I want to start a blog, away from the fatfamilyfitness blog that I’m doing with my family that is basically me.  So hold on to your butts! Let’s see where this takes us!

Tunes For Tuesday: Songs to Tickle Your Earbuds

the Video:

Kylie Minogue – Come Into My World
I chose this video as my choice for video of the week because of how COOL it is. There’s no clipping and no stepping in and out of frames… just… Watch!

the Playlist:

1 – Feist – 1234
2 – The Killers – Human (this is the official video, but there is an alternate official out there that I can’t seem to find. It’s much better.)
3 – Ben Folds feat. Regina Spektor – You Don’t Know Me
4 – Amy MacDonald – This is the Life
5 – Death Cab for Cutie – Soul Meets Body
6 – Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars
7 – John Mayer – The Heart of Life
8 – Architecture in Helsinki – Do the Whirlwind
9 – Superchic – Stand in the Rain
10 – Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

I’ve tried to include the official videos, but in some cases I couldn’t find them, so I included the next best thing.

Happy Gala Darling Week!

*le sigh* It’s Gala, herself, she’s soooo pretty! Picture from icing

Gala Darling is an intriguing person that I’ve followed since before she carved her way into internet blogger icon status! I started following wonderfully artful blogs on livejournal
after a friend of mine (who also followed her) made a connection between Gala’s Hello Kitty Band-aids and my own. Goofy, I know.

Eventually she started her own website, icing, a couple of years back and is still going strong!
She has gobs of fans and gets to do all kinds of exciting things, and make a living off of something she enjoys.

I wouldn’t exactly say that she is an influence on my fashion (outward and inward) so much as she is on the same page, yet more accomplished and I adore her for it. She is wonderful.
If icing is something that you’ve not yet experienced, go ahead and take a taste!
Happy Gala Darling Week!

Hero of the Week

=^.^= he-ro

–noun, plural -roes; for 5 also -ros.
a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal
Heroes are something we all have! Someone to look up to is important to me, because it’s something that can keep me grounded and motivated. Because this is so important to me, I’d like to celebrate a different hero in my life every week. It will change up as the weeks go along, heroes, to me can be someone famous, someone close to me out there in the real world, a character in a book/movie/tv show/et cetera, or even a pet!

Fizzies! (for you!)

Above is the first Bubble made custom for the Fizzies. Feel free to use this Bubble on any of your own sites to show your support!

Fizzies is a new project that I’m taking on. The basis behind the project is follower appreciation! All of you equal the fizz to my diet coke, and in the coming weeks you will see some follower appreciation blogs here at Diet Coke & Hairspray!

Stay tuned!

Fashion in a Box: CANCELLED!

Terrible news all of my loyal Fizzies! Unfortunatly, Project Fashion in a Box is going to be cancelled! The premise for my project was the traveling job that I had. I had to make the decision to quit this job (I smell a new article!) and therefore must cancel (for now) this project. Thanks for the feed back you’ve all given me, and this is defiantly something that I plan on continuing in the future. Possibly a little better planned out? Hey, Diet Coke & Hairspray’s just a baby. Stick with us! We’re learning. =^.^= Let’s all put on our Indiana Jones hat’s and gear up for the next adventure!
On that note, if anyone has any ideas for something they’d like to see daily, please post them or feel free to e-mail them to me at saholio@gmail.com for consideration! Don’t worry, credit will absolutely go where credit is due!

Fun with Sticks!

Chopsticks, that is! Being my favorite eating utensil, I use it for nearly every meal that I eat! I know that chopsticks are difficult to use for someone who was brought up in western culture and wasn’t exposed to them at a young age. I learned how to use them out of sheer curiosity and awe. A very good friend of mine is from Taiwan and she also showed me how to use them and proper table etiquette. I just wanted to share with all of you how to use them so you can enjoy them as much as I do!

This is a very good video to explain how to use chopsticks.

Here’s another great video to check out!

Chopsticks are easily available, at a very cheap price at places like the Wal-mart in the Asian Food sections. These are disposable chopsticks, however. Check out this website for some fun chopsticks, and other asian inspired kitchen accessories, to keep in your silverware drawer all the time!

Eat up!
